Nottingham 803, Carlton Colville, 11-06-2000
A nice find for a Nottinghamian like myself! This tower wagon has an interesting history. Built as a forward control AEC Regent with a double deck Park Royal body given fleet number 48, it was converted to normal control and rebuilt as a tower wagon, giving it a somewhat older appearance than its 1932 date suggest. This conversion tool place very early in its life - the original body was transferred to a replacment 48, registration TV9435, delivered in 1933 and withdrawn in 1949 after an extended life due to the war.
This is listed online as moving from here to "Cook, Worfield" in 2011, but I cannot locate an operator of that name. Has it been scrapped?
