One of the first pair of what was to become a Nottingham speciality. NCT always looked for maximum capacity, and the ability to have seats right to the rear of the lower deck offered a high number of seats downstairs. The downside of high step access was not seen as a problem at the time - this was before disability legislation was introduced. Service 50 (and its partner 51) were always the home of prototype and test vehicles, as the route is one of the hilliest in what is a quite hilly city.
