Nottingham Community Transport has created a trading arm known as CT4N (Community Transport for Nottingham) to operate tendered local bus services, leaving only the group travel and Easylink services directly operated by the charity. This is I suspect partly to sidestep accusations of the company having a competitive advantage in tendering due to the charity's non-profit status.
Most of the fleet is electric, but some vehicles used on longer services are still diesel as battery technology has stilk not truly made the leap forward that has been promised sine the 1970s (at least!). L64 provides a link between Gedling and Netherfield, particularly the retail park which is not served by commercial services. There is a long history of tendered services along variations of this route. It is interesting that this service runs in the county, and therefore funded by Nottinghamshire County Council, but the vehicle (like all CT4N buses) carries a Nottingham City Council branding, rather than Nottinghamshire's Nottsbus brand.
