Kinchbus 638, Carrington St Nottingham, 25-07-2017

Looking smart with the correct branding for the route, this Scania / Wrightbus combination heads out of the city with a service 9 to Loughborough via Ruddington and the A60.
This route has it's ancestry in what was originally a Midland Red route to Birmingham via Long Eaton and the old A453, and part of what is now the Red Arrow! Pre 1986, Nottingham - Loughborough via the A60 was served by service 101, which ran Loughborough - Nottingham - Derby via the A60 and A52, the latter section being supplemented with alternate journeys on Barton X42. After deregulation, the 101 was withdrawn and a revised service X99 operated between Nottingham and Birmingham via Loughborough and Coalville by Midland Red (East), with the number of extensions beyond the latter gradually reducing to none. Midland Fox, as it had become, often put a Marshall bodied Leopard on the route.
Eventually it succumbed, although the original Kinch company ran some services at one stage, but the section between Nottingham and Loughborough is now an established part of the Kinchbus network.
